Amoxycillin and Clavulanate Potassium Powder for Oral Suspension BP. Each tablet contains 500mg Amoxicillin and 125mg Clavulanate Potassium. When reconstituted each 5ml contains 200mg Amoxicillin and 28.5rng Clavulanate Potassium

Indication:

Astamentin is indicated for short-term treatment of bacterial infections at the following sites.
Upper respiratory tract infections (including ENT) e.g. recurrent tonsillitis, sinusitis otitis media. Lower respiratory tract infections e.g. acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, lobar and bronchopneumonia. Genito-urinary tract infections e.g. cystitis urethritis, pyelonephritis. Skin and soft tissue infections e.g. boils, abscesses, cellulites, wound infections. Bone and joint infections.

Dosage Form:
Oral suspension

Dosage and Administration:
Administer 1⁄2-1 hour before meals
CHILDREN: Up to 2years-1⁄2 teaspoonful (2.5ml) every hours
CHILDREN: 2-6years: 1teaspoonful(5ml) every 6hours
CHILDREN: 6 to 12years-1 teaspoonful (5-10ml) every 6hours or as directed by the physician

Preparation of the suspension:
To make 60ml suspension, add 50ml of boiled and cooled water, invert and shake the bottle until: powder is dispersed. Alternatively, gradually pour boiled and cooled water into the bottle. Shake well ar slowly add more water up to the mark on the bottle.
