Our Background

Dr Sam Olawoye is the founder of Sam-Ace Limited. He is a Pharmacy graduate with over 40 years of work experience across both the public and private sector in Nigeria. He obtained a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and is also a Fellow of the West African Post Graduate College of Pharmacy. He has led the company to become one of the largest manufacturers of beta lactam antibiotics in Nigeria.

1991

Started operations as a retail pharmacy in Kano dispensing medicines and offering professional counsel to the local community

2003

Explored pharmaceutical manufacturing after identifying gaps and opportunities in the industry. Converted a residential building to a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Kano.

2005

Received Certificate of Product Registration from NAFDAC for ORS ® - our own brand of Oral Rehydration Salts. Ceased to operate as a community pharmacy and focused primarily on the management and expansion of the manufacturing facility.

2006

Expanded into manufacturing dry syrup beta lactam antibitoics. Received Certificate of Product Registration from NAFDAC for ASTAPICIN®, ASTARCLOX® and ASTAMOCIL® dry syrup.

2008

Acquired land in Osun for the construction of a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

2010

Moved registered office and manufacturing facility to Km 14 Gbongan-Ibadan Road, Akoda-Ede, Osun state, Nigeria

2013

Added a capsule line to expand the beta lactam antibiotics range. Received Certificate of Product Registration from NAFDAC for ASTARCLOX® AND ASTAMOCIL® capsule.

2017

Added a tablet line to expand the beta lactam antibiotics range. Received Certificate of Product Registration from NAFDAC for ASTAMENTIN® dry syrup and tablet.

2020

Acquired land adjacent to the existing manufacutirng facility in Osun for the construction of a new and scaled up beta lactam manufacturing facility.

2021

Signed partnership agreement with a consortium of investors and experts in pharmaceutical materials and equipment procurement, logistics and sales. 

2024

Completed and commenced operations at the new beta lactam manufacturing facility.
